Section 2 Goals and Objectives

1.     Goals

by the end of this course, students should be able to:

a-      Speak confidently in front of an audience employing a variety of delivery skills such as eye contact, voice tone, gestures, body language, and stage blocking

b-      Understand and know which of the four methods of speech delivery is more convenient for a specific event

c-       Learn how to conduct effective research and analyze the audience to deliver both an informative and persuasive speech.

d-      Assess one's and peer's speeches critically and objectively

 

 

2. Objectives of Course Development/Revision

(1)    Overcome anxiety when speaking in public.

(2)    Learn the practical strategies regarding the four methods of speech delivery.

(3)    Master the essential skills to deliver a natural and successful speech.

(4)    Practice all the acquired skills in speech delivery and enhance them.

 

Section 3 Course Description and Implementation

1. Course Description

                   The transcripts of speeches and how to present their message, discourse features, including organization of content and the development of an argument: syntactic features, including the set phrase, metaphor, the delivery of selected speeches: voice projection, tempo, pitch variation, use of pause, writing speeches for given situations and presenting in group activities.

1.      Expected outcome on students' skill and knowledge

 

              Students will be able to understand and build more confidence using the English language in presenting, debating, or giving any sort of speech; they will be able to seek some information using the English language independently. They will be able to apply gained knowledge and skills in dealing with any difficulties they face in the language in different situations. Interact and participate with enthusiasm in any English activities in society. They will demonstrate critical thinking, reading, and speaking skills and enhance their ability to compose any type of speech.

Students should:

(1)   An online grading system will condition the student to be more punctual, sincere, and honest while learning.

(2)   Urge the students to be more involved in activities that are related to morality and ethics as well as give them tips to be more well-behaved publically and when communicating with others

(3)   Set an example for the students as a respectful and ethical teacher as well as teach them about the most renowned and successful figures with moral codes
